Sneezing through your nose makes a louder noise and is more pleasurable. So it's got nothing to do with showing off. The harder you go, the more enjoyable it is. Scientists are mission driven so they don't want to pay to something to make money. Most of this information is then put back into resources that will continue to help other scientists.
