Yomkipor Eve - The Song of the Kibutz
In the 19 73 yom keeper war, bethashita distinguishedt when more of its members died in battle than any other kibuts or moshav. They buried 11 people, ages 18 35, nine of them on a single day. In the 19 eighties, two kibutz members planned the ceremony each year and they asked rosenbloom if he would write a new tune for them. Rosen bloom went through a yomkipor maror, or prayer book, and he saw the words to unatana toke, which he found beautiful and arresting. And he wrote the tune for it that you heard.
