The PDPA and the Afghan Revolution in the 1970s

The 1970s are kind of our period of, I think, simultaneous sort of unrest and frustration for many Afghans. So in 1973, there's a coup, a political coup that takes place. The king's cousin, Muhammad Daud Khan, comes to power peacefully whilst the king is out of the country. And he does so with an alliance with local kind of political organizations and political groups,. including one faction of the PDPA.
