There are some students of the new testament who say that when jesus predicted that he was going to come back and that they would see him, he was really referring to his resurrection appearances. Others say, no, jesus was simply using mythological language. And we must de mithologize his teaching. That is to ay, if he spoke of the descent from heaven, the lord himself win descent from heaven,. all he rarely meant was that he comes to meet us in an existential encounter every day. So all these attempts to reconstruct or de mythologize his coming won't do if we want to be true to the teaching ofour lord jesus.
