During the cold war, unmanned aircraft were imagined as flying cameras. Thousands of drone missions were flown for aerial surveillance during the viet nom war. Many of the drones flew off course. They did not go the direction that they wanted them to. The programmes were corollary to or a competitor, depending on the circumstances.
