A fact checker is a young person who gets given the manuscript of well-known writers. They have to comb through it with a high lighter pen highlighting all the facts, names and dates. And then you have to call the person who's named your smiling because it sounds so absurd. "If you mess it up, it's your fault. But if you get it right, the writer gets all the glory," she says.
