The Scarlet Letter of This Pandemic Is the Mask
On February 21 Andy Slavitt releases an episode of his podcast interviewing CDC director Rochelle Walensky in which she says of masking quote, I just know people are tired. The scarlet letter of this pandemic is the mask. And it reminds us that we're in the middle of a pandemic. That's the big key thing here. This wasn't a simple direct exercise of like the polling firm said fuck off with masking or whatever. At this point, the Biden administration was actually trying to play catch up with a bunch of other, you know, basically democratic officials who had gone full on like anti COVID protection.
