The Myth of Sex and Sexual Expression
Sigmund freud helped promote a central idea, sex was no longer seen as merely an activity, but became central to a person's fundamental identity. In the words of karl thruman, in this view, sexual satisfaction is promoted as one of the key components of what it means to be living the good life. Freud provided a compelling rational for putting sex and sexual expression at the centre of human existence. This is where our concept of gender or sexual identity really comes from.
