The Soviet Dog, Likee
In 19 57, the soviets put their first satellite into space. They wanted to prove that they were tenologically ahead of America. The technology at the time did not exist to bring the dog home. It's an amazing and very moving tory. We spoke in my book beyond about the first man in space. That happens. And we can talk a bit about why they want to do that, but this is actually how it started, fruit flies and then monkeys. Before we come on to that, there is one animal that i'm sure many of our listeners will be familiar with, and that is lika, the soviet dog, likee.
