Are You a Christian? Is It a Christian or a Pagan?

i converted as an adult from i was baptized as a catholic as a child. I have to ask him, if there are things that are only sinful if you are a christian, why did i need to become a catholic? And no, i'm just so annoyed by what that he said. What whatever the liberation of the gospel is, it's not to be found in the musings of this newly made cardinal.
