The Complexity of Machine Learning Models
Overperformance is a function of overfitting the model, which means that it's basically memorizing the data. Models tend to be very greedy. If they get the chance to memorize the answers, they will do it. The more complex the model such as deep learning, if I've got a 600 layer deep learning neural network and I've got 10,000 records, I'm going to have a problem. There are all kinds of things that can lead you down that path.
