Is Facebook Making It Easier to Upload Videos?

Video is becoming more and more popular on social media sites like facebook, instigram or twitter. The companies behind these services say they want to make it easier for people to stream video from their networks. But the cost of streaming video has become so high that some platforms are dropping bandwith in favor of cheaper alternatives. Is this a trend toward user generated video? Or do we just want to be autonomous with our videos?
