How to Write Down Music?
Music was written down by an italian monk to help choristers learn complex new melodies. guido darezzo invented staves, which are horizon lines that tell you exactly where the note is and what its pitch should be. The next step was the mensural notation, which tells you how long your notes should last. And finally, on the kind of rhythm front, often pieces of music will have a broader rhythm to them - so ye might have a march or waltzes with three beats each.
