The Origins of Mummification in Egypt
In the first dynasty, mummification was rudimentary at best. Egyptian embalmers used a salt called Natron for drying out bodies of the dead. From this humble mineral they would figure out the amazing art of mummification. In their time, people were starting to figure out the process of embalming.
