The Implications of Uncontrolled Experiments in the Microalgae

Microalgae play a key role in the global carbon budget and account for like half of all carbon that's fixed annually. Will they be adapting fast enough or changing their metabolism in ways that might make them more thrifty? The answer is we don't know, but certainly, you know, either adaptation happens as resources sort of wax and wane or do you makes perturbations that are so extreme that it just wipes out entire populations.
