The castle is a nobleman's residence made magnificent through the trappings of fortification. From very, very early on, the battlement in particular, acquires a kind of social significance. Living in a house with battlements still means something even to day. Is there perhaps a turning point where you see the castle move from this more traditional idea of fortification to more of a place of living? I don't know about youi won latla.
