Africa has been long ignored in the Iranian foreign policy as you mentioned over the past decade especially. Now with President Raisi who is hailing from the other end of the political spectrum he considers non-Western state especially Africa as an area where he could capitalize on. These three states particularly Kenya has come under a lot of focus recently only yesterday we had an official saying that there is a direct maritime route between Iran and Kenya can serve as a bridge for the Islamic Republic to open its way into other African states.
