John Rami Less Brinkley

John Rami less Brinkley was born on July 8th, 1885. He is the son of a poor mountain man who practiced medicine in North Carolina and served as a medic for the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. John attended a one room log cabin school for three or four months a year. His medical career began in 1907 when he posed as a Quaker physician in a North Carolina medicine show.
