I've Been a Big Fan of the Electra on the Drums Lately.

The recorder. 's solid. It's solid. And like a set up, of x y over the snare, basically, with one kind of pointing at the ride and one pointing between the high hat and the snare. That's my new go to set up. Just those two mikes give me everything i need with the electra. But if i wanted more, and if i was more ambitious, i would stick my favorte's ribbon mike. For the third mike, put a ribbon down low in front of that kick drum, just a foot out or two feet out. The low end on ribbon microphones on kick drum, to me, just sounds gorgeous
