Emma Thompson - Is She a Player That's Outgrown the Academy System?
Emma thompson has signed her first pro contract at the club. She's a big center forward, and she uses the ball very, very well. One of my big gripes, i think, about the academy system in the women's game is that there hasn't been enough players going out on loan. There've been too many players sitting in the academy system. And by the time they reach 18, 19 and 20, they haven't got a minute of senior football in there under their belt.
