Introduction

Officials in Sacramento made a lot of news on Tuesday with regard to how the state might tackle the coronavirus and resulting economic hardship. Governor Gavin Newsom has announced some steps towards reopening restaurants, stores, and malls. The legislature is also beginning discussions about how the state budget can ease the pain of people who are out of work or underemployed due to the shelter in place.
