Donald Trump is not irrelevant. But he's clearly and rather dramatically diminished. He still has the power to destroy, but apparently he did not have the power to save Kevin McCarthy. Donald Trump will continue to throw his weight around. Whoever becomes speaker will be the mayor of Crazy Town.
