The housing market in the us is one of the dimmest, dimmest stars on the way down. Housing starts and building pemits for june after that big fall that we saw in may. New zealand is probably the bell weather here with prices already down about ten % from the highs. We know they're down in the likes of sydney and melbourne, for example. And it shouldn't be too much longer before we see absolute price declines in the yer. Pusing wealth effects, it's stock markets that are the bigger driver there relative to housing equities.
