vanilla extract is trying to get the best of both worlds, but there's always going to be a trade-off here. I'm not pitching this library as the solution to all CSS problems and all CSS and JS should switch to this. We liked the idea of writing it in TypeScript and then running it at build time and exporting the built styles. But we had to sort of rework it so that it was actually TypeSafe.
