Operation Franklin - The Single Most Unforgettable Successful Operation of the War
Operation franklin was 'the toughest and most unlikely successful operation of the war' It saw six pairs of canoeists paddle through 60 miles of enemy territory to sink ships carrying vital materials. But they lost half their force in just a matter of hours, with only two getting all the way to bordeaux. They successfully heavily damage five ships but are holed below the water line for a while. The men were captured shortly afterwards by hitler's commando order which is to be shot out of hand.
