Is There a Public History of Philosophy?

In the English speaking world, there hasn't been that much interest in history of philosophy. We've tended to study philosophy very ahistorically, which I think has been a great mistake. The reasons why philosophy are not studied in schools in Britain or America are quite complicated. And partly it's because philosophy itself has become defined in a very narrow way.
