The Founder of Political Parties
i originally wanted to call my book a tribe of liberty. Because what you want is to recultivate these tribal attachments to these notions of liberty, rather than ground them all in theory. So i want to move on because we should do a little rank punditry. But maybe the bridge to get us there is madison, to a certain extent, is considered, if not the founding father of political parties,. sort of maybe the john the baptist political party. He didn't like parties, and then he made peace with them. And then kind of in a saucy kind of way, started to like them.
