With algorithmic policing, you need to prove that you're not a criminal because you're passing through a place or a box that is historically high crime and you fit the description of someone who might do that sort of crime. That's the real issue here, and corporations and firms and startups are all too eager to come in and help erode the dignity that people want to have. They don't create anything like a better society by any metric. They create a worse society and through that create the own conditions that justify their own creation. These problems don't actually need like complex solutions," he says.
