I like workshopping with actors and a director for screenwriting because it's so visual. Do you have to be an LA or have access to actors to do that? No. It really depends on your process and if that helps you. But always the thing to keep in mind is, is it really churning it up and making it better? I've known movies and animation where they realized they had the wrong main character by getting notes.
