On earth 2.0, this would be the occasion for leading Republicans to come out and not just simply answer questions from the media, but to give major speeches saying this crosses the line. Sedition, the embrace of neo-Nazis and Holocaust deniers and then calling for the termination of the Constitution seems to be the ultimate bright line. But it is also dangerous if Republicans stay silent and by their silence acquiesce and normalize this kind of law.
