Memphis Police Charged With Second Degree Murder in the Death of 29-Year-Old Tyree Nichols

Five former Memphis police officers have been charged with second degree murder in the deadly arrest of 29-year-old Tyree Nichols. Police say they stopped Nichols for reckless driving on January 7th and that two confrontations ensued, after which Nichols complained of shortness of breath. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died three days later.
