What Do We Not Understand About the Pacific War?

Both sides in the war fought with very little quarter astor given. When germans and americans fought, they tended to follow at least some loose rules of warfare. You really don't see that in the pacific war,. The japanese fought with a level of barbarism that's almost hard to capture in words. And so when you look at it in that light, the war in europe is really somewhat a typical compared with everything that's happened ever since the war ineurope.
