What to Expect From Metaverse
Richard Kramer: There's been a lot of hype about reels, but not enough focus on the metaverse. He says both will be substantially lower margin businesses than Facebook enjoyed in the past. And indeed, you saw that as well at Alphabet, where they're really focused on efficiency gains; margins were down 90 basis points year on year because growth is coming from areas like subscriptions and cloud. Kramer: Did Sunar Pichai, did he say enough about AI on this call? Microsoft really focused on AI. What we really need to see out of Alphabet is them to get on the front foot and productize what they've done in AI - turn it into real applications.
