The History of Diabetes as a Jewish Disease

After World War II, as diabetes became associated with populations of color, the disease gradually lost its association with being a disease of civilization. So that was startling to me when I was able to map that transition placed over the way in which the racialized category shifted. And so seeing how that was so closely tied to xenophobia of the early 20th century was really stunning.
