There isn't a good pitching staff in baseball that can be aGood pitching staff when you don't have good defenders behind it. When you get a first and third base player who catches the ball from a star pitcher, there's nothing more demoralizing than no one clearing double play. Instead of giving up three runs as a team, they give up six or seven to wear on a team. It begins to wear down your team but only as a team if you keep playing well.
