Some of these activities were competitive. You would compete as two groups to do as much construction as possible, so you would make that into a festival. But then there would be some good drinking and singing and dancing. They did havecompetitive moments of racing. And indeed, there are some accounts of gambling type activities. So i think they were, they were capable of aing good fun as well.
