Surveillance Oversight - What Are the Most Promising Models?
The biggest model right now coming out of the sort of surveillance oversight movement is to require more disclosure from law enforcement about what they're doing. The drawback here is that a lot of the most sensitive technologies are not ones that law enforcement is going to be willing or happy to disclose. Andnd, you can't know what you don't know. But empowering oversight institutions to do more to get information is msing to me.
