The Story of Breastfeeding
For most of history, babies would have been fed by other women. But analysis done on these Bronze Age bottles show that they did have animal milk in them. And again, it's only very, very recently that these bottles have been looked at from the point of view of telling us something about a maternal history. The idea of interpreting this data with a view to the kind of feminine history just didn't happen.
