Part of russia's calculus through this whole process is tangible, a plausible deniability. They want to be able to say that they are not the aggressors in this action, that they are defending russian interests. What does the flash point cenario look like? I think it could be as wide as as your imagined imagination can grasp. Couldn't be any number of different things.
