Is There a Difference Between Young and Old in Trained Immune Response?
The idea would be to treat these patients prior to an infection because as we know, treatments for sepsis have not been very effective. There is a hypothesis that children are, their trained immunity may be higher because they're constantly getting bombarded with daycares and schools with respiratory infections. And I think there's still some work that I'll see over the course of the next few years that'll kind of illuminate the subject about pathogenic versus protective training.
