Are We Born With Qualitis?

i often ive struggled with this idea, are we just hard wired for hatred and suspicion of the other? And i'd like to think that we haven't destroyed ourselves yet. But god, my god, i see how easily and quickly we can bend to tyranny. The better angels of our nature... Are they the aberration, or is that in all of us? I've got to believe that that qualities, those qualitis you've just spoken of, we're born with them. They exist in all of me.
