Should Marketing Be Comped on Revenue?

The topic is, should marketers be comped on revenue? And if so, how we may see differently on this, that or thats. I think marketing can definitely support other service teams better. If you give marketing revenue targets, you're just going to create bad behaviors. But ah me, i'm in the camp of, let's have marketing get a contribution to revenue through pipe line.
