All of the bolshevick party leaders were intellectuals and read voraciously. They all built up quite huge, but personal book collections. Lenning was his role model. In 19 17, he's the leader of the country, is effectively the prime minister. He works in an office surrounded by books. When lenning dies in 19 24, the there were nearly nine thousand books in is cleter. And so starling's reading, is he reading predominantly for work purposes? Is it to educate himself? Does he sometimes read for pleasure? Is it a combination of all of these?
