The Importance of Space in Football
The physical capacity of the players has had profound impacts on all aspects of the game. One coach we spoke to Sweden suggested that the pitch is becoming too small for the players today because they are physically capable of covering so much ground. Could we see more choreographed routines in football as we do in small sided games like basketball? We already see some of these things but I think that will increase and certainly that is something that came across from the coaches.
