What Decisions Have Made You the Happiest in Your Career?
In the residency training period you have that opportunity to really see how you want to sub-specialize. I wouldn't focus on sub-specialization before residency because that's going to change a million times. The amount of information that you have to learn and not only learn but master is overwhelming at times. And so there was a moment when all of a sudden I realized, well, wait, this is cool. This area of functional neurosurgery kind of piqued my interest again about it reminded me why I went into neurosurgery in the first place.
