Is There an Inbuilt Time Lapse?

Is there an inbuilt time lag so that from the initial expression of wish through to the end? Are there time restrictions or controls put in to ensure that the decision is fixed and that minds have not changed? How does that work? Our original legislation required a very small attendee reflective period. That 10 day wait has been removed from our law because it was found to be detrimental.
