The tree's clothes were neatly taken off in ways that animals couldn't do. Her leg was found uphill, and it didn't have any kind of tooth marks or anything to suggest that an animal took it there. If an animal didn't take the leg uphill, there's another much more sinister possibility that someone, a human, took it there and left it there.
