Transhumanism
I think that it's very unlikely that human beings will create an artificial intelligence system that surpasses human capacity. That's not to say that it can't happen or won't happen. What i think is very, very likely to happen are whole sects of humans who come to a kind of worships these technological creations in the same way as fetish cults do. The idea behind transhumanism has suffused chinese tec culture and indian tech culture and israeli tec culture. There are plenty of people who do not adopt those viewpoints, but there are plenty who do.
