The Mutation Rate in Aviaviruses
Mutation rate is a property that you could measure pretty easily. It's used to think about how try to predict aviaviruss it changes. You need mutation rates to kind of plug into these models in order to, you know, make estimates. But this turns out to be a lot more complicated when you start to dig under the surface. We looked at a paper on the mutation rate in h i v and some evolutionary analysis suggesting that the mutation rate is sort of underestimated.
