Is Khomeini a Master of Shia Islam?

In 1978, one of the main newspapers in Iran publishes an anti-Olamma anti-Homani piece. This sets off a series of protests marking every 40 days after that initial set of massacres. Even Shariat Madari says the leader of this revolution is Khomeini. The Shah eventually manages through the repression to even alienate moderates among the clerics.
